— ART, FASHION & MORE !
I got to know the photographer Nobuyoshi Araki and his work for the first time whilst I was in elementary school, which was in the early nineties, through a (judgmental) Japanese TV program – it was great to see many things about him although not yet fully understood about the adult world and sexual orientation.
In his latest exhibition “Kirishin”, Araki captures and combines two different images into a piece of work — the left side of each image is bold and the right side is in shade — to reflect his vision indicating the loss of sight in his right eye that happened in October last year.
Vividness. Quiet flows in the madhouse Tokyo. Intimate facts. Expressing to the fullest. Araki asks us viewers how necessary it is to contemplate the process of analyzing our life establishing the unique relationship to his subjects.
