— ART, FASHION & MORE !
I went to Iroquois’s showroom again though I had introduced the Iroquois world for the most recent post. In fact, Iroquois‘s other project called “Episode no.,”, which is the men’s knitwear-only brand started from 2010 AW, brought me another chance to visit them and I got a sneak preview of Episode no.,‘s 2014 AW collection.
Touch, snuggle then stare. I put this action on repeat for at least 20 minutes and loved it. I say the style and joy of Episode no., are those fabric combinations that has been derived from the designer Yoshida’s solid understanding of Japanese men’s fashion culture.
“Despite most of Japanese men’s fashion brands didn’t get into focusing on knitwear for a long time with no apparent reason, I guess it’d happened because people’s passion for leather goods were simply at the height though, I have my personal love for knitwear and wanted to overcome a stereotype of perceiving (men’s) knitwear as ‘secondary concern‘ in their wardrobe choices.” said Yoshida. Thus he’s designed and provided various kinds of knitted items so far such as scarf, poncho, vest and leg warmer, but for this 2014 AW collection, Yoshida only offers sweater and cardigan with his main focus on mohair sticking to blend composition and method for dyeing natural protein fiber.
Their work was fun to see and I had a pleasant fuzzy time- some of the items will be in stores end of August and/or early September.
