— ART, FASHION & MORE !
Japan, here I am. I spend winter here for the first time in 5 years. Funny I see myself from the third person and a new world of my motherland… It’s been really cold in Tokyo since I landed, which was last week, but I’m delighted to rethink the way I explore many things now.
So I had something in Aoyama district yesterday and coincidentally passed by Spiral, the shopping/gallery complex. I was struck by the little cute shop by the window- That’s how I met this Tokyo-based hosiery brand, MARCOMONDE. NOTE: As you may know, I am officially a hosiery maniac.
MARCOMONDE made a start on launching their original hosiery in Aoyama, Tokyo, in 2007 sticking to their policy, “designed and manufactured in Japan”. In contrast, their collection is fun; it’s always based on the concept “travel enriches the mind and could bring some interesting things to happen”, so that they sort out ideas from a city to entitle a collection. Their current (A/W ’13) collection is called “New York“. Ooh what a coincidence I’m not in New York now. Anyway, they inspired me about New York and how beautiful it is during the holiday season.
*I need to confess it was the last day of their pop-up at Spiral yesterday.
