— ART, FASHION & MORE !
Aw. It’s still cold but I can’t help but feel a dilemma for spring since some mild and warm climates capriciously have come out of the wintry sky lately.
My head said, “Hmm, I feel like skipping along pretty lively in the changing season.”
Eventually I got to a point that I focus on modifying my footwear, which is to wear brand-new flat shoes from the Japanese women’s label Nomine, that I received as a holiday gift.
Now l’d like to explain about that label “Nomine” shortly. Abahouse International Co., a Tokyo-based apparel company founded in 1986, launched Nomine in 2010 as not only one of their labels but also a new colorful chapter. Nomine sells women’s clothing (‘La Crème’) and footwear (‘Nomine’) manufactured in Japan and currently has 7 stores (only in Japan). Nomine’s mission is to provide a multi-faceted yet fun idea to the people who are in love with dressing up through a mixture of funky, fancy and somewhat girly stuff.
While I was in Tokyo on vacation in November 2012, I got a chance to meet Ms. Maiko Koga, the merchandiser of Nomine. And right after my encounter with her, I visited one of Nomine’s stores in Tokyo to see how it goes. Therefore, I coincidentally found the fancy flats when I was in there.
On the other hand, there’s a fact that I usually try wearing some heels to make my view upward because I’m little, so I doubted if I shall happily wear flats. Also I believe living in New York means a lot of walking if you love exploring something attractive from the street and sceneries you’d see… I have been really sensitive about securing a right fit for shoes to protect my feet effectively.
Feeling a mixture of emotions, I actually tried them on and found out they fit right..! After that, surprisingly, Ms. Koga gave me the flats considering that there are no Nomine’s products available in the United States where I currently reside. OOH HOW LUCKY I AM!!! – I really appreciate her great consideration for my situation.
I still can’t let go of making some parts of my body warmer, so I wear tights and layer leg warmers on top of the flats. My feet are obviously surrounded by all of my greedy thoughts, but the fancy flats seem to beat any other part of my feet, which makes me fly so high…
Thank you my fancy flats, you make my step springy. And I can feel little Tokyo at every step even though I am here in New York.
